A loan of $5,450 helped a member to increase the inventory of his general store and to make more electronic money transfers.

Mclaren Group's story

Davis, who is in his mid 50s is married with six children who still go to school. He has been running a general store for fifteen years now. He works from 7.00 am to 8.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit. This will be Davis's sixth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to restock on missing items in his store and started an electronic money transfer (M-pesa and Tigo Pesa) business. He is very hard working. He has managed to pay back all his loans successfully, and has been using his profits to pay school fees, build his house and cover household expenses. Davis will use this loan to increase the inventory of his general store and to make more electronic money transfers. His dream is to one day be able to build another house to rent. Davis will share this loan with his loan group "Mclaren" with ten members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
