A loan of $1,150 helped a member to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland.

Horn's Group's story

Horn is aged 49 years old and married. She is the mother of six children, three of whom are dependent on her. To make a living, she and her husband have been farming rice on seven hectares of farmland for ten years. The current business earns her about 32,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs. Horn’s group consists of four female members who live in the same village of the Moung Russey district of Battambang province. She is a sixth-cycled client with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Now leading her group to apply for a loan, Horn, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her crop yield so as to make a better living.
