A loan of $875 helped a member buy fertilizer for her farm.

Sarin's Group's story

Sarin is originally from a rural village in the Thmor Koul district of Battmbang province. She is a 62-year-old mother of nine children. Rice farming has been the only source of income for her family for ten years. The current business earns her about 40,000 KHR per day.

Sarin’s group consists of three members who live in the same village. Sarin is in her seventh cycle with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Now leading her group to apply for a new loan, Sarin, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend for labor. She hopes to increase her crop yields so as to make a better living.

In this group: Sarin, Sanhgeam, Norn
