A loan of $600 helped to buy merchandise for her store.

Luz Oriele's story

Luz is a 58 year old woman. She lives in the city of Ica. She is very kind, hardworking and enthusiastic, dedicating all her efforts towards getting ahead. Unfortunately because of the lack of financial resources and the need to work since she was very young, Luz could not study a professional career. In her free time she enjoys watching novelas and sometimes cooking the tasty lomo saltado (traditional dish made with sliced beef, hot chiles, vegetables, and fried potatoes) to share with her family. On her own initiative, with a lot of effort and dedication, Luz works in her small business selling groceries and soft drinks. She works every day for about ten hours a day and believes that she is doing well because of the good products and for the friendly service she offers her customers. Luz is very grateful to Kiva lenders, as thanks to the support she can buy a greater quantity and variety of products, such as rice, sugar, beans, oil, milk, soft drinks, and others, so that Luz can assist more clients, and so she can continue working and striving to reach her big dream of finishing the construction of her home.
