Clara Elizabeth's story

Clara, 47, is a single woman who lives in the Santiago district of the city of Ica with her beloved nephew. She has devoted herself to caring for him since he was very young, and he's like a son to her. Clara's a very friendly, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who has been able to get ahead despite adversities such as losing her parents at a young age. Unfortunately Clara wasn't able to study to be a professional nurse because of a lack of financial resources and her need to work from a young age. In her free time she likes to entertain herself by watching television, and sometimes she cooks a delicious ceviche to share with her family. On her own initiative and with a lot of effort and dedication, Clara works every day in her small business selling sweets and beverages. She can work approximately 12 hours and she believes it's going well for her because of her good prices and friendly customer service. Clara's very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to their help she'll be able to buy a large quantity of a variety of merchandise. This way Clara will be able to better stock her business and serve more customers. She'll continue working and making the effort to realize her big dream of being able to give her nephew a good education, because she wants to see him become a good professional.
