A loan of $1,550 helped to maintain her cacao plants .

Jessica's story

Jessica, 30, is married and has two children. They live together in her brother-in-law's house. Jessica makes a living in agriculture and has her own plot of land where she grows cacao. She also has a business renting video games in her brother-in-law's house. She has had this job for four years but she has only two years of experience planting cacao, which she does on her plot of land a few kilometers from the house where she lives. She does this job alone because her partner works in other jobs. What she likes about her job is she can be at home almost all day. This way she can see her children, who need her care because they're still very young. Up to now everything's going very well for her and she hopes it continues that way. This is her sixth Kiva loan and she hopes it continues to go well for her because she's very grateful for the opportunity they give her to be able to have more capital for her business. With the requested amount of 4000 soles [PEN] she'll do maintenance on her cacao plants.
