A loan of $950 helped to buy school supplies for his son and pay for his wife's tuition.

Cesar Luciano's story

Cesar is a young man who is 21 years of age. He lives in the city of Chincha, which is known for its traditional dishes such as “carapulcra con sopa seca” (a spicy Peruvian stew served with dried potatoes). The residents are cheerful people. Cesar lives with his wife who supports him in everything he does. They have a young son who they love dearly. All of Cesar’s efforts and sacrifices are solely focused to providing his son a decent life.

Each day Cesar works as an assistant at a mine in the city. He works approximately nine hours a day. On a few occasions, he works on the weekends without being able to see his wife. Cesar knows that he has to make some sacrifices in order to improve his family’s quality of life, so he works with dedication. He believes that because of this dedication, he has been able to move forward. Cesar also has a reason to keep striving, his son.

He is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the assistance they have provided, Cesar will be able to buy school supplies that his young son is lacking. His son is starting school and he will also pay tuition for his wife who did not finish high school. By providing the best education for his family, Cesar can continue striving to have a better quality of life and pursue his greatest dream of owning a house.
