A loan of $775 helped to buy bananas and other ingredients to make her products.

Rodith's story

Rodith, 44, is married to Abdias, who is a farmer, and they have a son. They live comfortably in their own home. Rodith has a business selling chifles (fried bananas in plastic bags) and has a small stall outside a health center where she attends to her distinguished clientele. She also distributes her products to stores in the city. She gets up very early to buy the ingredients she needs for the day, paying a low enough price to have a greater profit margin. She has been in business for eight years and receives support from her husband when attending to the public.

She enjoys her work because it has brought her personal and economic satisfaction. This is her second Kiva loan and she is grateful for the financial support necessary to continue with her sales. She will use the 2,000 PEN loan to buy bananas wholesale, as well as other ingredients to give her chifles that special touch.
