A loan of $775 helped to buy school supplies for her children.

Deysi Ysabel's story

Deysi is a young woman who is 26 years of age. She is a single mother who strives to succeed for her three young children (ages 8, 5, and 1). Deysi is very determined, but most of all, she provides her children with a lot of love. Despite the adversities she has endured, Deysi has not lost her enthusiasm or her desire to press forward. Her home is located in the District of Santiago in Ica, Peru. The District of Santiago is known for having warm weather and a developed agriculture sector in terms of cotton, asparagus, and other crops.

Deysi works each day as a laborer on a large farming estate. She works approximately nine hours a day and the income from her hard work pays for the household expenses. Deysi believes she is moving forward because her children provide her the motivation to succeed since they are the most important part of her life.

She is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the assistance they have provided, Deysi will be able to buy supplies for her young children. Classes have already started, but her children do not have the necessary materials so that they can go to school. This loan will allow her children to study with the supplies they need. Deysi continues to move forward so that she can fulfill her greatest wish of providing her children the opportunity to pursue a university degree and having her own business.
