A loan of $325 helped to buy secondhand clothing.

Martha's story

Martha is 36 years old. She is married to Adolfo, who works independently as an electrician and is the father of their three children. They live together in their own home.

Martha sells secondhand clothing of different styles for women, men, and children. She acquires her merchandise in the capital in large quantities. Martha sells these clothes to her friends and neighbors, who she attends to in a friendly manner. In return, they prefer to do business with her. Martha has been in this business for more than four years. Her husband currently helps her by looking for new customers. She enjoys her business because it generates income and provides her with a job. In addition, she can stay at home and look after her children during her free time. Right now, she wants to increase her stock of merchandise.

This will be her sixth loan with Kiva. Martha is pleased to know that she will have financial support. She is confident that she can advance her business. With the loan of 800 PEN that she requested, Martha will buy several pieces of secondhand clothing so that she will have available stock to sell.
