A loan of $700 helped to purchase farming equipment.

Alena's story

Alena is a farmer. She has been growing tomatoes, corn, beets, apples, watermelons, potatoes and strawberries since 2002. Her husband and 19-year-old daughter help her manage the business. She initially started cultivating tomatoes and cabbage in open ground.

Alena and her husband have decided to purchase some plastic sheeting to protect their tomatoes and beets from the cold and wind, as well as a drip tape for irrigation.

Alena's plans for the future: to sow new varieties of strawberries, and to start cultivating grapes.

Her personal plans: to provide her daughter with an education.

Alena needs your help to finance the purchase of plastic sheeting and irrigation tape.
