A loan of $1,925 helped to buy five cattle.

Oruj's story

Oruj is a friendly and hardworking man of 43 years old. He is married and has three children. He is an IDP (Internally Displaced Person) and lives with his family in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. He breeds cattle and has 15 years of experience in this field. Oruj gets financial support from the government, but 60 AZN is too small an amount to cover the family’s needs.

Cattle-breeding requires a lot of physical activity and spending most of the time in the open air. Pasturing takes 80% of Oruj`s time. He usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months, and then resells them for a more profitable price in the livestock bazaar. His monthly income is 140 AZN, and this business is only one source of financial income in his family. Meat is in very high demand in Azerbaijan, and people use it in everyday dishes like pilau and dolma.

Oruj would like to purchase five cattle, and for this purpose he applied for 1,500 AZN. He needs this loan to increase the monthly turnover and cover the needs of his customers. He has already completed several loans with AqroInvest and has a positive client history.
