Peru
PUCALLPA, Peru / Personal Housing Expenses

A loan of $400 helped to improve her home.

Marisol's story

Marisol is a 47 year old woman who lives in the city of Pucallpa with her 6 children, whom she loves and are the main reason for her life. She is a very kind, hard-working, and enthusiastic person, who dedicates all of her efforts to providing for her family, since she must be father and mother to her children. Unfortunately, due to lack of economic resources and by necessity she has had to work since she was very young and so she couldn't study a professional career as a secretary. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking delicious desserts and typical foods from her region.

By her own initiative, and with a lot of hard work and dedication, Marisol works offering cleaning services in a hotel in her city. She works everyday for approximately 8 hours and believes that it is going well because of her effort and the kind treatment she gives to others.

Marisol is very grateful to the KIVA lenders, since thanks to the help being offered, she will be able to complete the improvement of her home, since it is made of wood and corrugated zinc, and has a dirt floor. By improving her home, Marisol will be able to provide better security and well-being for her family, so she will continue working hard and striving to complete her great dream of finishing the construction of her home.
