A loan of $1,025 helped to buy fertilizer and manure to grow potatoes.

Francisca's story

Francisca is a 44 year old single woman. She is a fighter and has a complete primary education degree. She has a daughter who lives with her and works at a medical clinic as a custodian. She received her bachelor's degree in arts and sciences 7 months ago and she helps her mother with household chores and other activities. Francisca has more than 25 years of experience in growing vegetables (potatoes). From a very young age, her parents taught her the trade which has been the means of support for their family for many years. She sells her product through middlemen who come to the area, neighbors and family, but like all planting and cultivation, it has risks like pests and fluctuating market prices. Right now, she is requesting assistance so she can invest in planting potatoes and buy fertilizer, manure, spray pumps to fumigate the product to help keep it healthy and free of pests. Her dream is to grow a variety of products to offer her clients so that they have more buying options. This way, she can generate more income for her family and invest in her crops until she can have her own capital to work with.
