A loan of $250 helped to finish his studies in Hospitality and Tourism.

Walter Giovany's story

Due to family concerns and through much effort, Walter was able to receive both an elementary and high school education, receiving his diploma in 2012 from the high school he attended the last year.

Basically, he has always lived with his entire family: his parents, his minor sister and a niece. They rent their home and use most of their income to pay for rent and food, and to cover university costs. They can pay for their basic needs, but the Kiva loan will be very helpful in reducing their costs and help cover the high cost of household expenses.

Walter had a year to decide on what field of study he wanted to pursue based on his preferences and passions, rather than going in to just any field. Some time ago he decided that Hospitality and Tourism were what really interested him because of the wide variety of projects he can do when he becomes a professional in the field he is learning. He knows he can put into practice all he has learned; and that through much effort and dedication he will be able to get ahead and meet his goals.
