A loan of $2,350 helped a member buy seeds.

Siempre Alegres Group's story

The 8-member Siempre Alegres group will begin their third loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Patacamaya central group. Sra. Dominga is president of the Board of Directors. The members run a variety of businesses: farming, pig and sheep sales, food sales, and cattle sales. The loan they are seeking will benefit all the women's businesses. President Dominga notes that she joined Pro Mujer a year ago at the invitation of one of the advisors who came to her house. Currently she works in agriculture growing potatoes. She learned how to do this from her parents years ago, and now the work enables her to earn money. The loan she is seeking will be used to increase working capital so she can buy seeds from distributors and then sell them in the markets of El Alto town. This work enables her to earn money so she can support her family as best she can. She is married and has three children. When she is asked what she enjoys about Pro Mujer, Dominga replies that she likes the loans, and the training about credit and health.
