A loan of $775 helped a member to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland.

Savean's Group's story

Originally from a rural village of the Battambang province’s Phnom Proek district, Savean is 50 years old and married with ten children, four of whom are dependent on her and still in school.

She earns a living by farming rice to feed and support her family members. For additional income, Savean also works for others for a fee. Having been in this business for 12 years, she is able to earn about KHR70,000 per day to meet the family’s need.

Savean’s group consists of two members, and they are first cycle clients with VisionFund. Now she is leading her group to ask for a loan of 1,500,000 KHR each. She is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland.

Savean hopes to grow more rice to earn additional income to improve her standard of living, and to keep her children in school.
