Sopha's Group's story

Sopha, 37, is a married mother of four kids, who lives in Dambae district, of Kampong Cham province. To support the family, Sopha is engaged in rubber tree planting on two hectares of land. She has been involved in this business for two years, earning about 30,000 KHR per day. This is the third loan for Sopha with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has used her previous loan wisely, to keep up good progress of her living standard. Also, she has repaid her previous loan with success. For this loan cycle, she is in a group of three to apply for a new loan. As the group leader, Sopha will use her loan portion to buy bowls, for collecting latex, and to buy potash for growing rubber trees. She hopes to grow her rubber trees with a good yield and produce more latex and make more income.
