Sopheak's Group's story

Sopheak is 39 years old and has been blessed with two children, both of them still in school. He is a vendor in the local area of Battambang province’s Sangke district. His main sources of income for his family are grocery selling and rice cultivation. He has been doing this work for 11 years, and he earns about 36,000 KHR per day.

This is the first microloan for Sopheak’s Group, which is comprised of two male members. Sopheak is the group leader. The group requested a loan in the total amount of 1,000,000 KHR, and each of them will take 500,000 KHR. Sopheak is going to use his loan portion to buy fertilizer and rice seed, and to pay necessary fees, including plowing, transplanting, and water pumping. He hopes to grow his rice healthily and to make more income for his kids' sake.
