Jowo Slow Group's story

Nartini lives in a village of the Cawang district of the province of Jakarta in Indonesia. She is 48 years old and is married with one son who is a senior in high school. To support her family, she opened a small kiosk in front of an academic school nearby her house. She sells there from 06.00 AM – 04.00 PM. The current business earns her family about 400,000 IDR per day to meet the family’s needs and pay her husband's medical fees which have accumulated over the two months of his being sick. Nartini has been with VisionFund Indonesia for two cycles and completely repaid the past loans, which helped her to better support her family with enough food. Now she is leading her group of four to ask for another loan of 1,500,000 IDR each. As the leader, Nartini wants to use her portion to buy instant noodles and instant drinks to complete her kiosk. She hopes to earn more income from her business so as to make a better living. She dreams of having her own house.
