Erlinda is 63 years old and married, and has four children. She lives in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. She owns and operates farmland, planting and harvesting coconut for sale. She has been in her business for over 10 years and earns 5,000 PHP every month.
She has been a member of GDMPC since the year 2007, and now she has requested a loan of 7,000 PHP. She will use the loan to purchase chemicals for coconut production. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
