Michelle's story

Michelle, 25 years old, is a resident of Taguig, Philippines. She is married to Rhamil and is a mother to her child. She, together with her husband, manages their household, working hard to continually provide income for her every day expenses.

Michelle makes and sells rice cakes and rice dishes. These are foods commonly eaten for snacks and sometimes after meal for desserts. She sells them by order, with particularly strong demand for special occasions and holidays. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of PHP 500 in sales every day.

To help her continue her business, she is requesting a PHP 15,000 loan. She will utilize the loan to buy more ingredients such as rice, sugar, condiments and seasonings. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Michelle dreams that her business will continue to grow and hopes for good health and happiness for her family. She meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
