Patrick's story

He employs four other people in the café. He is also formally employed. He learned about Milango through friends who invited him to the group, and he joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve his business operations. His main challenges are competition and the effect of seasonal changes. Patrick is applying for a loan of 41,900 KES (Kenya shillings) to buy food supplies, including rice, cereals, wheat flour and cooking fat. His extra income resulting from the loan will be added to his savings, to pay school fees for his child and improve his standard of living. His dream is to move to a new, spacious, place to carry on the business.
