Greetings from Perú. The "Little Ants" group is composed of 9 enthusiastic female entrepreneurs. This is the case of one of the members, Sara, who is 30 years old, has a live-in partner, but no children at the moment. Sara sells underwear in a gallery near her neighborhood. This business arose thanks to the encouragement of a family member that has the same business.

Sara would like to to have other underwear stalls in commercial areas to increase her revenue. She asked for the loan to purchase undergarments for children and adults, stockings and scarves. The "Little Ants" group appreciates the given credit.

Sara is the third on the left side, sitting, and dressed in a floral blouse with beige pans. Miluska is not present for work reasons.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
