A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase fertilizer and manure to maintain her coffee crops.

Elia Humbertina's story

Elia is 54 years old. She is a fighter who is enterprising and grateful to God and who has a desire to improve and succeed. She is married and has five children who are all adults. She has a granddaughter in kindergarten who depends on her since her parents live in the United States. She went to school through fourth grade and could not continue due to a lack of financial support since her parents had limited resources and could not support her.

Since her childhood, she has worked cultivating coffee. Her family did this work and today it supports her family. Her parents taught her to work the land more than twenty years ago and now she works with her husband. Their land was purchased after many years of sacrifice to save and purchase the land they cultivate today. It is located two kilometers away from her house and she walks there every day.

Currently she is requesting help to purchase fertilizer and manure to maintain her coffee crops so that she has a healthy and profitable harvest that generates income and profits so that she can continue investing.

Her dream is to start a business that will give value to her coffee crops such as packaging them and selling them in the market. This would allow her to improve her income so that she could continue expanding her crops, and it would be an inheritance for her children to continue working and pass from generation to generation.
