A loan of $200 helped to buy and sell corn, beans, and coco yam seedlings.

Ngum's story

She is married with four children and they all live in a two-bedroom apartment in Bafut Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. She has faced many challenges in life, among which are sickness of her child, death of her husband, inadequate finances to educate her children, cater for their feeding, provision of medication, and climate change that affected her crops.

With the new loan requested, she will buy and sell farm seedlings which include coco yams, maize, beans, and cassava. She holds a positive view of this business succeeding because she has ready customers to buy her seedlings, and beside that, this is farming season and the demand for farm seedlings is very high. She has a well located business site that does not only attract new customers but also maintain old customers. With this business activity, the community will have a regular supply of seedlings at reduced prices; good seedlings will also be sold to them since she knows the different qualities of seedling and will buy and sell only improved ones.

With the profit from this business, she will buy her family needs like clothing, plates, spoons, cups, etc., educate her children and ensure payment for their education, and provide medication to her family. She prefers GHAPE loans because of gradual payment installments and low interest on loans.
