A loan of $200 helped to buy piglets and seedlings.

Shu's story

She is married with two children and they all live in a two-bedroom house in Bamenda, Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. She has faced many challenges in life, among which are persistent sickness and the death of her mother, leaving her alone at a very tender age to take care of her younger silblings, and climate change that affected her farm.

The new loan requested will be used to buy piglets and feed for her piglets, and vegetable seedlings for her farm. She is positive the business will succeed because she has experience, and she will buy a good breed of piglets and also buy a well-mixed feed for their feeding. With this activity the community will benefit from the droppings from the piglets as manure for the fertilization of their farms thus leading to improved yields and more vegetables.

The profit from the loan will be used for feeding her family, the education of her children, expansion of the business by buying more piglets, and also expanding her farmland. GHAPE loans are preferable to her because of low interest rates, and a well-structured repayment interval.
