A loan of $1,500 helped a member to buy dried vegetables, beans, and groundnuts for sale.

Vision Ladies Group's story

This is 46-year-old Ester from Harare. She is a divorcee with one child aged 20 years. She also looks after her sister's two children, as the sister has suffered a stroke.

Ester is into buying and selling traditional foods like dried vegetables, beans, groundnuts, etc. The business has been in operation for 12 years. She says the main challenges faced are stiff competition in the market and seasonality of products. As part of the group, Ester has requested a loan of $400 to buy more stock for resale.

She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to increase the family's cash flow and quality of life. In the future, Ester sees herself owning a farmer's market selling agricultural products.
