Lala's story

Lala is a 26-year-old woman, who is married and has two children. She is an Internally Displaced Person ("IDP"). Lala breeds cattle for meat purposes. She also has two milking cows. Her profit consists of cattle sales and selling fresh yogurt and milk. Her husband is on a pension and helps her to run her business.

She usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months, and then resells them for a profitable price, from her house. Her monthly income is 120 AZN. This business is the only source of financial income in her family. Meat is in very high demand in Azerbaijan, and people use it in everyday dishes, like pilau and dolma.

Now, Lala has applied for a loan of 1,500 AZN. She will use it to buy two beef cattle, two milking cows, and fodder. This will be her second loan, and she has good client history.
