A loan of $600 helped to buy general merchandise needed to stock the shelves of her general store.

Zula's story

Zula is a single mother hailing from Katete in Mbarara municipality. She dropped out of school after getting pregnant at a very early age. After that incident, she lost support from her parents and unfortunately she didn’t know the father of her child. She later got a donation from her aunt and started a retail business in a nearby market to provide for her survival as well as the well-being of her child. She sells general items like tomatoes, onions, salt, and soap among others things because such a business is sustainable and there is also demand for the items from many people. She is requesting a loan of UGX 1,500,000 to increase her working capital by buying additional items to sell. She is a resilient and determined person. She also thanks Kiva lenders for choosing to partner with her.
