Lillian's story

Lillian lives in Ruharo, a suburb in Mbarara municipality, with five children, all in school. She got married when she was 18 years to a man she loved. But later the husband deserted the family and, unknown to the wife, went abroad. Unfortunately the family had no income-generating business, and Lillian started to struggle for the survival of the children. That is when she got to know Ugafode Microfinance and acquired a loan of UGX 2,000,000, which helped her to start a small business dealing in children's wear. Because of her hard work, this business developed, and she managed to support her family and pay school fees for the children. She is applying for a loan to increase her working capital, and the balance will be used to clear school fees balance.
