A loan of $650 helped to buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics and clothes to sell.

Denisse Yasmin's story

Communal bank “Mujeres del Nuevo Milenio” [New Millennium Women] gets together fortnightly in the Montecristi canton, famous for its rich pre-colonial culture and its nationally and internationally recognized handicrafts, like the famous Panama hat.

This is where young Denisse, 21, lives together with her parents. She is single and studies Management Services in a university located in Manta. Denisse has worked with the communal bank during three cycles and she enjoys doing so because she receives help to continue with her studies. Denisse is a young, hardworking woman that sells clothes on catalogues and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women accessories). She works almost every day, even where she studies. She sells on credit and collects weekly or fortnightly, depending on what her customers prefer. She has been doing this for four years and is doing well.

With this loan, she will buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics and clothes. Her dream is to finish her studies and become a professional.
