A loan of $1,175 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Mari Luz's story

Mari Luz, 37 years old, is married and has two children who live in with her in a house built a few years ago. Her house is connected to an agricultural shop. Mari Luz is a woman with principles and a fighting attitude toward her work. Since she was 17 years old, Mari Luz has worked farming some land she inherited from her parents. She grows peas, beans, corn and various flowers. She mentions, "I enjoy working in the fields, so does my husband; we both split the work."

Mari Luz also mentions that pea sales have been very good recently because prices rose from 90 to 120 soles per bag. With this money, Mari Luz would be able to buy more seeds of other crops. She hopes to take full advantage of the the coming rainy season. Mari Luz began growing potatoes and will also be taking care of those plants.

Her goal is to acquire more seeds and fertilizers in order to grow peas and potatoes. That is why she needs this loan. Mari Luz will invest the 3000 soles to buy organic fertilizer for her crops. She is very grateful for this loan and pledges to punctually make all of her repayments.
