A loan of $2,100 helped a member buy magazines.

5 De Abril Group's story

The A.C. "April 5th," will be starting its third loan cycle with Pro Mujer as a part of the Senkata Focal Center. It is made up of 8 members and is directed by a board of directors where Mrs. María Eugenia is the president. The businesses of the communal association members are varied including: pea sales, a neighborhood store, magazine sales, toy sales, CD sales, recreational toy sales, and clothing sales.

The loan will help the small businesses. Mrs. María Eugenia shared that this is the second cycle with Pro Mujer, admitted by an institution's promoter that visited them at their homes. At the moment, she has a business where she sells magazines. She shares that she started this business on her own 15 years ago and this business is currently her family's income.

The loan will be used to increase merchandise (purchase of magazines) bought from wholesale sellers in La Paz city and afterwards will sell in her locale. This business helps her have an income to maintain her home and support her two children since she live in a common-law marriage.

When she is asked what she likes most about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the health training and loans.
