A loan of $1,800 helped a member to buy supplies to prepare food to sell.

Buenas Amistad Group's story

Maritza is 24 years old. She is a young mother to two small children, who are her reason for living and for moving ahead. She is part of the "Buenas Amistad" ("Good Friendship") group, which is made up of five members. This group is on its third loan cycle and has demonstrated punctuality and responsibility.

Approximately one year ago, Maritza started a food business due to the need to confront her small children's expenses, since she has to raise them alone. She saw the opportunity to start a food business, which she has developed as a street vendor since she does not have the resources to rent a location, much less buy one. Little by little she has gotten customers and her good seasoning has helped her.

She will use the loan received to buy supplies she uses often in her food as well as plates and glasses, which are what she most needs in her business.

In this group: Maritza, Karin Milagros, Teodora Felicita, Griselda Geovana, Elita Hirene
