Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $275 helped to purchase more rice, pepper, oil, and charcoal for her restaurant.

Nancy's story

Nancy lives in Margibi county, which is the largest rubber-producing plantation region in Liberia. She is 37 years old, married, and has four children between the ages of 4 and 19 years old. They are in school and live at home.

For the past ten years, Nancy has been involved in a cook shop business (restaurant). She makes more profit and has lots of customers. She is requesting a loan, which she will use to purchase more rice, pepper, oil, and charcoal for use in her restaurant. Her plan is to build a house for her family.
