A loan of $250 helped to buy more goods to sell from her table.

Yawah's story

Yawah is 49 years old and lives in Margibi County, Liberia. She is married with five children between the ages of ten and 33, two of whom live on their own and the others attend school.

For the past twenty-five years Yawah has sold oil, pepper, salt, onions, batteries and others items from a table in her community’s market. She set up her business with money given to her by her husband and learned to sell from her mother. She enjoys selling because she makes an income and is popular in the marketplace.

Yawah is requesting an 18,000 LRD loan from BRAC Liberia to buy more goods to sell from her table. Her ambition is to build a house.
