A loan of $225 helped to purchase more palm oil, pepper, rice, okra, and the like, for her business.

Julie's story

Julie lives in Kakata Town, the capital City of Margibi County. The county is the highest-producing rubber plantation area in Liberia. Julie is 39 years old, married, and has three children between 7 and 25 years old. Her three children are in school; only two of them live at home. Julie is a high school graduate, and for the past five years she has been selling food ingredients, like palm oil, pepper, rice and okra, in the local market. She started this business with help from her husband, and she learned this way of selling from her friends.

Julie is requesting a loan, which she will use to purchase more items like palm oil, pepper, rice and okra, to resell at her business. She enjoys her business and the profit she receives every day. Her plan is to build a house for her children.
