Oretha's story

Oretha is 43 years old and lives in Kakata Town, the capital city of Margibi County, which is the highest producing rubber plantation in Liberia. She is married and has seven children who are between 11 and 24. Her children are attending school, and they all live at home. For the past three years, she has been operating her business at a table in the market, where she sells dried fish. Sometimes she has fewer customers, but most of the time she make a lot of profits. She spends nine hours at her business, and she uses taxis to get her goods to her table in the local market. She is applying for a loan to buy more dried fish for her business. In the future, she hopes to expand her business.
