Santiago lives with his mother (Mónica) and his siblings (Isabella and Felipe). In general he thinks he has a humble family that goes through life working together toward a good future. They have a lot of financial problems, as usual, but they don't give up.

He's a respectful, sincere, humble, and responsible person who knows how to value things and who doesn't give up.

Throughout his life he has seen what real life is. He studied in public and private schools and got ahead with elementary school and high school. He worked different places to support his family while he looked for the possibility to study. Finally he found Campoalto, which offered him time to study and work. This seemed fantastic and now he's in his second semester of culinary school.

About CampoAlto

CampoAlto is a for-profit education institute that offers a variety of classes to students from socially or economically marginalized groups, including women, ethnic minorities, displaced populations, disabled individuals, and those living below the poverty line. Kiva funding is being used to pay tuition for students who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend classes.

Because CampoAlto’s core business is not purely microfinance, there is some level of additional risk for lenders. For this reason, Kiva has not assigned the institute a risk rating.
