A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a motor for his taxi.

Pedro's story

Pedro is single and has three children. Two of them are of school age and the oldest one is attending the university. He is renting a house from a relative that includes a bathroom, a kitchen, and a room that he uses as a bedroom for himself and his children. The rooms are made of adobe and plastered with stucco. The floors are made of cement. The house is located in the District of Cooperativa in the city of El Alto.

Pedro currently works as an independent taxi driver in the city of La Paz. He earns a daily wage and this is the only form of employment that he has for generating an income. Pedro is the only person who is contributing to the payment of basic services for his family. The loan he is requesting will be used to buy a motor for his vehicle. This will enable him to work more hours so that he can improve his earnings.

Pedro dreams of acquiring a house of his own and improving his quality of life. This is the first time he has requested a loan from IMPRO and Kiva.
