A loan of $3,500 helped a member to pay for squash seeds.

Zola 2 Group's story

Brigitte, age 51, is married and has two children, ages 17 and 21 years. They are both attending school now. She is representing the Zola 2 group. Brigitte buys squash seeds, pays for someone to plant and harvest them, and then sells the squash in a local market. She has had this business for 10 years. Essentially she is her own squash supplier.

She will use the loan to buy squash seeds with which to begin another crop. Her business strategy is to sell a lot of squash at the time of harvest. Brigitte has received one previous loan from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. She has a good repayment record. Her goal is to open a restaurant and bakery in the future.
