A loan of $1,500 helped a member to pay for eucalyptus seedlings, fertilizer, training and plantation maintenance support.

Medza's Group's story

Medza is a fifty-five-year-old mother of six children and a widow. She sells locally-brewed beer and does casual labor to earn money to support her children. She says she lacks the capital to make large quantities of the brew, and sometimes her supply runs out, so she misses out on potential income.

Medza says, "I want to plant trees and get money like my other villagers who have joined KOMAZA." She plans to use the profits from her tree farm to educate her children, three of whom are still in school, and to invest in other businesses.
