Herminia's story

Herminia is 29 years old and is a hard working woman. She lives with her husband Gido and their small child who they have been raising in a rented home for two years. The primary income is received from manual seamstress work that she carries out with great care and artistry for six years now. She admits that she does have working capital that helps her to progress with her business. But since she is a skilled woman with aspirations, she chooses to take advantage of her free time in another business.

Six months age she opened a store selling foodstuffs in the main entrance of her home. Thanks to the beginning of the school year she has made good sales. Her store is close to a high school and many of them purchase food in the store that she opened. She hopes to improve her earnings with the business.

This is her second Kiva loan and is thankful for the opportunity brought forth because she will be able to improve her business. She promises to be punctual with her loan installments. Herminia will invest S./ 1000 soles to purchase basic needs products including rice, sugar, boxes of milk, noodles and drinks.
