A loan of $775 helped to hire local workers for her cocoa plantation.

Rosamery's story

Rosamery is 29 years old. She is married to Willington, 30 and has a 5-year-old son. They all live together in a brick house. Rosamery grows organic cocoa, something she learned when she was a small girl while helping her parents with minor tasks. This activity was by then the family’s main source of income.

With time, Rosamery received a small piece of land from her parents, for supporting her family. This activity requires commitment to the cocoa plants, in order to obtain good pods and sell them in the local marketplace. For this, she needs to hire local workers who know much more about this business.

This is Rosamery’s first loan with Kiva. She is grateful and promises to pay the installments on time. The 2,000 soles [PEN] she is requesting will be used to hire local workers and start with the collection of the cocoa fruits.
