A loan of $400 helped with working capital to expand her fruit-selling business.

Ana Isabel's story

Ana is a 29-year old woman. She is a single mother and lives in Sololá. She has two children, a 10-year old son and a little girl who is 8 years old. They both go to school.
Ana makes her living selling prepared fruit. She puts the fruit in trays and offers it for sale at offices, stores, the courts etc. She started this small business out of a need to support her children after she separated from her partner. She works hard to ensure her children's well-being and to get ahead as a woman.
Ana is requesting a loan of Q 3,000.00 (USD $400) for working capital to expand her fruit-selling business. She wants to improve her income and the service she offers to her customers.
Ana's dream is to build her own home, for herself and her children. For now, they live in a rented house.
