Nenita is 62 years old, married with 5 children; she lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. Nenita owns and operates a pig-raising business to earn a living. She has been in her business for over eight years, and earns PHP 6,000 every month.
Nenita joined GDMPC in 2010, and now she has requested a loan of PHP 8,000 to purchase feed for her pigs.
She will use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
