A loan of $1,125 helped a member to purchase inventory for her general store.

Rukhsana Group's story

Rukhsana, pictured raising her hand, is a 35-year-old hardworking woman living with her husband and five children in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Her husband is a laborer, and his income is insufficient to meet their household expenses. Rukhsana runs a small general store, and she needs additional capital for the growth of her business.

As a member of five-person group, she has requested a loan from Kiva partner BRAC Pakistan. She wants to buy variety of grocery items like rice, sugar, and cereals and introduce some new products in her general store to satisfy her clients' needs. She wants to increase her monthly income and savings for the better future of her children. She would reinvest the profit in her business, use part of it to pay her household expenses, and spend part on the education of children. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for their support.
