A loan of $2,400 helped to improve her work area and pay for the needed renovation work.

Dilnia's story

Dilnia is a 29-year-old Iraqi woman. She is married and a mother of three children. Dilnia has a part-time job as a cleaner at an educational establishment in her neighborhood. She also is one of the many Iraqi woman who is working from home, using her sewing skills to generate extra income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

Dilnia has 3 years' experience with this little home based sewing activity. She enjoys making custom order dresses for women and children using her old, trusted sewing machine. While she has no problems with her old machine, she would like to improve her work area to make her work time a little more enjoyable and offer a nicer atmosphere for her customers.

To pay for the renovation work Dilnia took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq in the amount of 2,400 USD.

Dilnia is under 30, and as such qualifies for a 'youth loan'.
