A loan of $775 helped to hire workers from the area.

Reinan's story

Reinan is 24 years old and is married to Irma. They live together in a home constructed from adobe. Reinan makes a living entirely from the production of cacao and organic coffee, thanks to some plots of land that he acquired over time.

From the time he was a child, he always provided his firm support for various maintenance activities, being an exemplary son. Upon graduating high school and not finding a way to get a higher education, he didn't lose any more time and opted to venture into the fields independently, generating income together with Irma, with whom he made possible the purchase of their first plot of land, adjacent to that of his parents. Working together with his wife is very heartwarming for him because he thinks that their working union is good encouragement for the future of a united family.

Among the needs he has for his work is that of having the capital necessary for the various maintenance tasks such as the first essential weeding campaign to limit the consumption of nutrients by the weeds, thus optimizing his production. This task should be done with the support of workers and in a uniform manner, so he went to his financial institution requesting financing for his case.

This is his first loan with Kiva and he is grateful for the opportunity provided and commits to making his monthly payments in a punctual manner. On this first occasion, he requires 2,000 Peruvian nuevos soles and to hire workers to perform the first weeding around his cacao trees.
